Mandar and Dakshayani discovered saint poetry through traditional and ritual music. The dynamic medium of music was the key to an inter-generational treasure of memories. Even before the words revealed their meaning they were singing about pain, illusion, suffering and the ultimate joy. Mandar and Dakshayani string together a collection of these composed works interspersed with their personal stories of discovery. Their performance is a joyous celebration of relationships and serendipity. This will be an evening of sharing the processes of discovering works and uncovering the layers of meanings they hold.

The Lakkshya Quartet is a contemporary Indian music ensemble that skillfully navigates diverse musical formats, anchored by a robust foundation in Carnatic music. Born from a shared passion for music and a compelling desire to broaden their musical horizons, Lakkshya is the brainchild of long-standing friends KJ Diliip (violin, composition), Ila Sangeetha Diliip (violin, voice), and Sunaad Anoor (khanjira and hybrid percussion), later joined by Aman Mahajan (piano, keyboard). The Lakkshya Quartet is poised to embark on new musical journeys. They are currently working on their debut album 'Ecstacy', out later this year. Legends - Retro Musical Event - Sun, 25th Feb'24
Introducing Dulcia Art’s newest live music event series: Legends and this inaugural performance will center around the music of the late, great Kishore Kumar. Kishore da is, unarguably the most versatile and one of the best multi-genre, singers India has ever produced. At this concert, you may listen to some of the timeless songs of Kishore da composed by such luminaries as S D Burman, Khayyam, Rajesh Roshan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, R.D. Burman, Bappi Lahiri, and Kalyanji Anandji, among many more. Along with the three highly regarded singers—Ravindra Shinde, Prashant Naseri, and Shifa Anasari—will be a 15-piece orchestra of accomplished and well-known musicians. Renowned anchor Sandeep Panchwatkar will host the show.

You need not have any prior experience in drawing or painting in order to attend this course.

“Facing the wall” is a 2-day introductory level workshop in the tools of the Theatre of the Oppressed, and its possible use in various fields of social, political and community based practice. This workshop will foster an inclusive space where participants become active co-creators of their own narratives. Drawing inspiration from real-life experiences, personal stories, and collective struggles, we will explore how Theatre of the Oppressed empowers individuals to confront their oppressors, envision alternative realities, and enable collective action for positive change. The workshop touches upon Understanding Connectedness; Analysing Intersectionality of Oppression and Confronting Hierarchies; Embracing Script Forum and Facilitation; Trusting the Power of the Oppressed; and Cultivating a Culture of Dialogue. Through the processes of playmaking, forum theatre and facilitation leading into a collective building, the workshop will culminate into few forum plays which the participants will collectively devise.

Kaakadosha is translated from the English original, 'When the Crows Visit' by Anupama Chandrasekhar.
Kohinoor - Fri, 23rd Feb'24
Kohinoor is not a linear play, operating on four planes, it gives the story of 4 women from different demographics. One thing that remains constant amidst their dissimilarities is that they are all confined in various ways and of course, financially. How they keep trying to change their lives, yet are not able to, is made clearly visible. The play ends, not on a cynical note but by invoking a change of mindset among men, which can prompt stepping back and seeing the bigger picture. The Hindi play justifies a careful sprinkling of regional language to give veracity to the locales and bring out the message further accentuated.
The Flame - Sat, 24th Feb'24
Mrinmoy, the elder son of Sanyal family had met with an accident soon after his marriage and has been confined to a wheelchair since then. He is suffering from paralysis, lives with his mother, Mrs Sanyal, his beloved wife Urmi and is supported by a full time nurse, Ranjana. His younger brother Tanmoy runs his own tea business in the northeast. Dr Tarafdar is Mrinmoy's physician and he regularly visits Mrinmoy. Mrinmoy's mother is a widow, highly educated and unorthodox. She has an old-time friend called Major Lahiri who is a retired senior police officer and is currently a neighbour of the Sanyal family. From an interactive evening among the characters which goes deeper into human conscience, the story on next day morning, turns into a mystery and finally takes a deep philosophical bend riding on emotional conflicts, taking the audience through an unthinkable and engrossing journey on human relations.
Love in the Cholera of Time - Sat, 24th Feb'24
Love in the Cholera of Time is the story of 2 individuals who exist in different eras but fall in love nevertheless, in the in-betweens of time. This aberration puts the jobs and lives of 4 Time Gods in danger, whose job it is to keep time in its own place. This puts into motion strategies that could change the very nature of time. The play is a sharp & funny deliberation on love, loneliness, science and the industrialised weaponisation of time. Now whether the Time Gods' efforts to keep time understandable, linear and tear free or not, you'll just have to find out for yourself, won't you?
Aadaddella Olithe - Sat, 24th Feb'24
The play revolves round the antics of a middle-aged couple, Bhageerathi and Kapanipathi, whose children are grown up and live in distant cities. As they squabble over petty domestic matters, they receive letters from their son and daughter. While the son has written to invite them over to Bombay for the coming Deepavali, their artist-daughter, who has married a Frenchman, announces her desire to bring her husband home. Bhageerathi sees the visit to Bombay as a long-awaited opportunity to exercise her power as the mother-in-law, while Kapineepathi wants to subject his French son-in-law through the torture he has experienced during his first Deepavali at the in-laws' house. But both of them are in for surprises.
Mr Rao and Associates - Sun, 25th Feb'24
This play conveys the message to the society (reflects the social condition) that parents are not ATMs and there is responsibility on the part of the children too. Modern life style has made the precious interpersonal bondage, emotions and humanly feelings fragile. The bondages are weakening and gap is widening among siblings too. It took thousands of years for humans to arrive at a beautiful society where all live harmoniously, helping each other, enjoying together and sharing and caring among themselves. Now that the non living things decide these precious and sensitive bondage among us, the inter personal relations is getting weaker and weaker. This play beautifully brings out in a very humourous way yet with all required inputs, the mental turmoil in the elders when the very basic bondage and emotions are ignored and they feel neglected.
Mera Wajood - Sun, 25th Feb'24 & Sat, 2nd Mar'24
Mera Wajood is a Hindi play that delves into the intricacies of a Kinnar society, shedding light on their struggles, miseries and lifestyle. It narrates the transformation of an ordinary individual into an extraordinary being, navigating the challenges that come with their existence. The play carries a profound message of humanity, emphasizing the universal right to equal livelihood irrespective of form, caste, creed, status, religion or background.
Gangavatharana - Tue, 27th Feb'24
Gangavatharana is inspired by the poems of D.R.Bendre, known by his pen name “Ambikatanayadatta”. Known for the lyrical rhythm and beauty, his poems are one of the most popular works of Kannada literature. Influenced by vedic literature and aurobindo, his poems are often philosophical in nature, yet, in a very simple manner. The play chronicles many famous anecdotes and incidents from Bendre’s life, parallel with the story of a literature researcher devoted to Bendre’s life and work. The play raises serious questions about human potential and his ability to rise above his misery. The play, known for its colorful dance sequences and soulful rendition of Bendre’s poems, is widely acclaimed as one of the breakthrough plays of the recent past.
Prabhas (Biopic of Nobel Lauraete Marie Curie) - Wed, 28th Feb'24
"Prabhas" Kannada drama celebrates Madame Curie's brilliance. It also reveals her courage as a female scientist struggling with her male-dominated scientific community. Marie meets her fellow scientist Piere Curie-the pair go on to marry, raise two daughters and change the face of science forever by jointly winning Nobel Prize. After the death of her husband, Marie continues research and invites scandal when she has an affair with another prominent scientist. After that she was awarded second Nobel Prize. The drama provides a window into the importance of the curie's discoveries and the challenging lives of scientists in the late 19th and early 20th century.
