36 Sati Savitri Nivasa chronicles the lives of three middle class women as they go through important milestones in life. What happens to the lives of women leading a predictable life when it's turned upside down due to an unusual candidate taking residency in their middle class apartment? This is a play about sisterhood, old age, loneliness and friendship. It is also an ode to all the chaos that adds beauty to the lives of these women, including Tv Serials and Cinema. There is music, some dancing and loads of madness in this tribute to women and their strength in this patriarchal society that we dwell in!
This play revolves around the revolt of a small tribal hamlet in the deep forests. Set in the times of Shree Ranadheera Kanteerava, the play broaches a topic relevant to this day. Kaaka, the tribal leader, rebels against the unjust taxation by Heggade and his force. He comes up with various means to save his tribe from the brute force of the city-dwelling power brokers. This leads to several twists and turns in the narrative. The play unravels with rich usage of poetry, music and dance. Kaakana Kote is a feast for the senses.
Human in the Loop choreographed by Nicole Seiler (Switzerland). What’s that line between human & machine, freedom & limits of algorithms. With humour and absurdity to test the power between performer & digital choreographer, here’s presenting a thought-provoking experiment.
When you're busy living life from one deadline to the next, it's sometimes hard to stop and smell the roses... but there's one thing Life has an upper hand on - the unending possibility of laughter that it promises. The problem is... sometimes, you may just end up as the punchline. Tahatt`s A Funny Thing Called Life is a vignette of 6 everyday situations we all encounter; the only difference being that they quickly turn into a twisted, funny joke where you wonder how it came to this. Love at an airport lounge, the meaning of life Home Delivered, a strange Auto ride and a most unlikely conversation.
The play is about the turn of important events in Droupathi`s life characterized by herself throughout the play. Droupathi is an unimaginable character and a cold ablaze concealed in the inner faculty of every other female on the planet without exception.
This is a Docu-play dramatized from a wonderful piece of art novel - Annana Nenapu written by KP Poornachandra Tejaswi which is Mahakavi Kuvempu’s Memoir. The play reflects key excerpts of Tejaswi’s life journey and portrays Kuvempu in the eyes of Tejaswi.The play conveys the important chapters that depict the significance of Kuvempu`s place in Kannada cultural history along with the key literature topics and emphasizes the Karnataka Unification Movement."Annana Nenapu" is a rare and popular book in Kannada literature.
Here’s a climate conversation as an interactive improv theatre experience designed to be unique every time. Human performers & AI colleagues create live & unscripted scenes about the climate emergency. Don`t miss this first-of-its-kind theatrical event.
The story of the Kabuliwala was written by Rabindranath Tagore towards the end of the nineteenth century, and published in 1892. That was more than twenty years before he received the Nobel Award for Literature. It was a short story, merely fifteen minutes in narration. It went on to become one of the most loved, most translated and most cited of Tagore’s works in prose. The deep bonds developing spontaneously between a child and a grown-up stranger from two entirely different cultures is one of the strongest testaments of the goodness of humankind. The play Kabuliwala Calling is an original adaptation for the stage developed at Bangalore Little Theatre. The story is presented by the Kabuliwalas of Kolkata themselves. Historical details of the Afghan community are added to provide the context.
Death is an inevitable end. Despair, disgust, diseases, disability, depression - does all these lead to death. Does any one can help out of compassion to have death to relieve a person of his miseries is the Question? Loneliness, no support to live, no purpose in life, no love, no care, no hope - does it mean to call off life ? Come and see the comedy play Parahita Pashana playing with death.

Music

Korolova is a breakout talent who has exploded onto the melodic house and techno scene in impossibly quick fashion. She is a new school sensation with a spell-binding sound that has captivated fans all over the world. Korolova is a new alias but the Ukrainian behind it has been immersed in music for a decade. The experiences of the last 10 years now stand Korolova`s sets apart: they are richly melodic and escapist journeys that take her crowd into the next dimension. After many years of exploring, she has now found her own voice and her own style.
Kuch Urdu shayari, Ghazalein aur classic bollywood gaanein lekar aa rahe hain teen shaandaar fankaar - Snehdeep, Prabhnoor aur Noor. The show is largely in Hindustani/Urdu with occasional translations in English.
These are songs that are meant to celebrate the heartaches and the bad decisions and the glorious mistakes that now can’t be unmade. Shoonya has made an attempt to clean the dust off the old diary and feel the now yellowed pages and smell the air that once was new. They have picked some darling ghazals and some dim lights for this evening, come join us in making an evening that hopes to meet higher weekend goals.
Small World's Poets Meet for March 2023 is a gathering for poets, musicians and storytellers to perform a piece of their choice, and celebrate art as a whole.
Indian Music, as diverse as the colours, has several compositions depicting the festival. Apart from the traditional classical compositions, there are several others by legendary musicians, which bring out the beauty of the festival and unearth different facets of the raag. The association of Holi with colours is also brought out in many classical compositions.

Dance

Lessons are perfect to get fit ,have fun, learn fast and be the Star of your party. Effective teaching format gets you dancing in a short time. 1 person, 1 couple or a small group to make sure everyone gets personal attention.

A blend of rigour of the Bharatanatyam technique and personal storytelling. A safe space to ask questions, make mistakes, learn and practice. An attempt to make this art form a pursuit of both excellence as well as joy!
Meepao is a dance in celebration of all the departed, especially the ones who are deemed inconsequential. Using minimal movements, Meepao invites the spectator into a space where dancers and non-dancers alike can join in this celebration. It begins with simple movements of the feet. The movements repeat, as though creating its own ritual, and finds its depth and textures through the synchronicity of bodies dancing together to the beat of live music. They slowly transcend into a liminal space where the living (mee) convey a message (pao) of harmony.

Sound Meditation is a type of mindfulness meditation that uses sounds to focus the mind. It can be used with any type of sound, but common choices include singing bowls, gongs, chanting. Sound healing ( also called sound bathing ) brings about a meditative state that can open up to therapeutic tools of sound. Sound meditation can be an effective way to reduce stress and promote relaxation. It can also improve sleep quality and increase feelings of well being.
In this collective workshop we will take a look at the different techniques of how to use the fingers & specific harmonics with this magic instrument. Learn simple patterns, how to breathe with the tempo, to get well with this instrument. In this 4 hour workshop you will go back with a good baggage to work at home & with the possibility to find your own style!

Yangshak movement is an exploration into ‘LAIREN MATHEK` philosophy of the Manipuri martial art form, Thang-Ta (Khuthek Lal Thek) and Dance (Jagoi). The workshop will focus on understanding of the body through our imagination, impulse, objects and resonance with the space. Beyond the physical movements and techniques, the practice will create an avenue for new language that emerges from the body.
  • Counselling Workshop - Part 1 & Part 2 - Sat, 11th Mar’23 & Sun, 12th Mar’23
This will be a 10 Hour training program for Basic Counselling and Communication Skills, held by People’s Enrichment and Advancement Lab (PEAL). The workshop will also cover levels of Empathy, the importance of the same, multicultural sensitivity, improving self- awareness, increasing understanding of others etc. Some of the skills covered would be active listening and effective questioning. The session would be interactive and would take participant's thoughts, experiences, comments, and questions.

Lahe Lahe brings to you an evening of soul on paper.Every Tuesday we're bringing to you a heart-plucking session of poetry, and good company. Welcoming you all and looking forward to an amazing evening of poetry!! Every week we recite poetry on a theme they would have fixed last week or if not, you can recite any of your poems you would like to share or even a poem you like with credits to the poet. Also we have poet of the week where we talk about the poet and his works.
Join us to meet other travelers and listen to their stories (max 3 mins each) and share yours. ✈️🌍You will get to know the theme only once you reach the venue. 😊At the end, everyone will get to vote anonymously for their favorite story (no, you can't vote for your own story).
Bharathanatyam Brunch is a durational session hosted by Nirali and Shoonya, facilitated by Priyanka Chandrasekhar. The session is a platform for inter-disciplinary collaboration, and exchange where we make space for creative improvisation, personal reflection, experiments with body technique, questioning and experiential engagement with the arts. Though largely it is a movement based session, we welcome people from fully different professions and practitioners of all and any kind of art form. We are also open to any kind of engagement. Participants could just observe the session or talk to us, move, question, bring your own work and practice alongside or even facilitate. Conversations during the session range from World politics to deeply personal stories interspersed with a lot of fun, games and sweat. We encourage you to bring your whole selves, with honesty and curiosity.
The class includes a variety of mediums, like acrylic painting, oil painting, watercolour, charcoal, pencil and pen sketching, colour pencils, soft pastels and a lot more. You will be guided through each of these mediums in the level that you are at. The classes will be taught using a wide range of creative exercises and activities. You will be encouraged to develop and follow your own style and creativity, while learning the skills needed to do so.
